KVAK

KVAK (Quality, Inclusive, and Engaged Critique in Youth Work) addresses key areas in the education of youth workers: effective and safe delivery of feedback, care for vulnerable individuals and groups, and an appropriate, respectful approach to participants in youth programs.

The consortium, led by ZiP and including the Società Nazionale Debate di Italia (Italy), Nexes (Spain), IDEA (the Netherlands), and Danes je nov dan – Institute for Other Questions (Slovenia), has set the following objectives:
1. Harmonizing standards and practices in youth work.
2. Facilitating the education and training of youth workers.KVAK plans to achieve these objectives through two main outcomes:

- The development of a content-based handbook for youth workers that covers various areas in a clear and practical manner, together with general principles that youth workers must always adhere to.
- The creation of interactive exercises featuring videos and written case studies from practice, including tests and an online platform through which users will receive digital badges for their achievements.

Our aim is to simplify the training of youth workers by providing practical exercises that prepare them for real-life work, and by introducing a badge system that makes it easier for organizations to verify competencies. The online platform will enable more flexible and remote learning, directly contributing to the quality and visibility of youth work.

Partner organizations face shared challenges in the training of mentors, which is crucial due to the sensitive nature of their work. The consortium seeks to address universal issues in youth work that are not limited solely to debate organizations.
KVAK strives to comprehensively improve the quality and visibility of youth work through the development of standardized materials, the introduction of a digital badge system, and the creation of a flexible online platform for effective non-formal education.
