Masters of the Digital Future 2025/2026

In the 2025/2026 school year, together with the Bank of Slovenia and under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, we are organizing the project MASTERS OF THE DIGITAL FUTURE (Mojstri digitalne prihodnosti), carried out in cooperation with the debate organization Za in Proti. The debate project is aimed at upper primary school students and secondary school students.

This year, young participants will reflect on the euro in the digital age. They will debate the possibility of introducing a digital euro and its effects on cash transactions, modern payment methods, and the importance of financial and digital literacy for a secure personal future. They will also have the opportunity to discuss the sustainability aspect and the ecological footprint of the financial system.
The project is intended for educators and young people who are either new to debate methodology and such competitions or already familiar with them. The competition will again take place in separate groups based on participants’ experience with debate methodology.

Saturday, 27 September 2025: Debatni seminar za nove in izkušene mentorice in mentorje
- Presentation of debate methodology and thematic overview of the debate project
Friday, 7 November 2025: Dan odprtih vrat in uradni začetek projekta
- Educational and entertaining program for students at the Bank of Slovenia
2025/2026 school year: Implementation of debate workshops in primary and secondary schools
- Workshops conducted at schools in coordination with debate mentors
January 2026: Debate tournaments
- Primary and secondary school qualifying tournaments and selection of winners
- Debate topic: We support the implementation of the digital euro

May 2026: International debate tournament and finale
- Project conclusion

Prize for winners: A two-day trip to Zagreb, including a visit to the Croatian National Bank.

All finalists will be received at the Presidential Palace by the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, at the conclusion of the debate project.
